Named Driver Exclusion
Louisiana Revised Statute 32:900(L) allows for exclusion of named drivers from liability (and thus UM) coverage:
L.(1) … an insurer and an insured may by written agreement exclude from coverage the named insured and the spouse of the named insured [and] … any other named person who is a resident of the same household ….
This 2001 change legislatively overruled Williams v. US Agencies Cas. Ins. Co., 779 So.2d 729 (La.2001).
